It has been since August, 2003 that we have lived in Sun Prairie, and since January, 2004 that New Life Church (Iglesia Nueva Vida) has been meeting in worship. We thank the Lord for the many who have received salvation during this time, and for the continued work of planting churches for Spanish speaking residents of our state. Here is my most recent report.
Praise. We give thanks to the Lord for Clara and Arturo who were baptized on May 27. We are rejoicing with Angel, Pedro and Vicente who gave their lives to Christ, and for Lourdes who reconciled her life to Christ. We are also glad to see spiritual growth in the nine men who completed the course in the New Testament at the Madison Training Center.
Testimony. Pedro is 65, and with his wife likes to sit outside his house and observe the people and cars go by, and especially watching the High School students pass by. I met them in Wal-Mart and invited them to come to church. His wife said that she was Mormon and he was Catholic. That was three years ago. On July 9, I saw them again sitting outside their house and I felt the need to go and talk to them. When I arrived, his wife left quickly, but he replied by saying, “I am very pleased to see you.” He began to share some of the things that were happening to him. He told me that he has just been to the hospital. I then explained the importance of having Christ in his life. With bitter tears, he accepted Christ into his heart. He can not read or write, but he is now a Son of our King because the Holy Spirit had prepared his heart.
At New Life. We continue to see newcomers every Sunday as we study the epistle of Ephesians. The worship team, made up of young people, continues to give their all to learn and to live according to God’s word. On Wednesdays, we continue to meet at Pathway Church – we call this a Celebration Group. We divide into four different groups for studying different books and sharing what the Lord has taught us through the scriptures. We now have 16 adults and the youth group has 10.
Waterloo. We continue to serve the Hispanic community in Waterloo in Mondays and Fridays. There is an ESL class in a workers dormitory on Mondays and an ESL class at Cornerstone church on Fridays. One family and seven men attend this ministry. One of them, Macario is a musician. We are praying that the Lord will reach him, and that he can help with music at New Life Church.

Financial Support. Would you be willing to help the ministry of New Life Church financially? We are encouraged by the giving of our church family, but we need additional financial support to support our budget. Gifts can be sent to the Forest Lakes District, indicating how the Lord has called you to support New Life.
