New Church Supporting Nueva Vida

Cornerstone Church in Waterloo, where members of Nueva Vida have been invited to do outreach among the Spanish speaking community, has just joined the churches supporting Pastor Rayo and Nueva Vida.  Thank you so much!

Year End Report at Nueva Vida

Growth at Nueva Vida church throughout 2006 has been so encouraging!Attendance at church has increased from about 25 attenders each week to an average of 45-50 people! In the Thanksgiving Day service, there were 50 adults and 20 children in attendance. This gives us great hope for even more growth in the coming year. Through PastorRayo’s ministry in Sun Prairie, 25 people accepted Christ this year.In a related ministry in which volunteers teach English as a Second Language in a dormitory for temporary workers in Waterloo, another 5 men came to Christ.We at Nueva Vida are also thankful for several very strong discipleship partner relationships, which are allowing leaders and new believers alike to grow in their faith. Additionally, we greatly appreciate New Crossing Church in Sun Prairie who has allowed Nueva Vida to use their building for our Sunday afternoon services throughout the year 2007 at no cost.

Men from Nueva Vida, along with men from La Cosecha, in Norwalk, participate in the Training Center for pastors, planters, and lay leaders, which is held at Bethany Evangelical Free church through the University of the America’s program. The first semester began November 18, and the topic is “Spiritual Formation”. Fifteen men are participating! This is great news and has exceeded our expectations. The course is being co-taught by Steve Turley, a member of Door Creek and Pastor Rayo.   Courses are for-credit, and credits may be transferred. In the second semester (March-May), we project we will be offering two new courses: New Testament Overview and Principles of Teaching.

Clearly, this work in Wisconsin with the Latino population has experienced great growth. Unfortunately, Pastor Rayo’s support this year is at a deficit of $9000, money which would be applied towards his salary and expenses for the church planting movement. We appreciate your prayerful consideration of providing additional support for this essential, growing ministry.
